The Chamber serves as a voluntary alliance of business and professional leaders committed to supporting business growth, community development, and economic opportunity throughout the Autauga area.
Position: Marketing Intern
The Marketing Intern position assists the Marketing & Communications Director with the development and implementation of marketing, communications, and promotional efforts for the Prattville Area Chamber of Commerce.
This role provides hands-on experience in marketing, social media management, event promotion, and community engagement.
Responsibilities and Duties
• Assist with implementing a communications calendar and digital marketing strategy for the Chamber’s social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and others.
• Help create engaging content including graphics, photos, captions, and short videos.
• Assist with writing press releases, event promotions, invitations, and social media posts.
• Serve as staff support for Chamber programs, meetings, and events as needed, including occasional evenings or weekends.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Marketing & Communications or the President.
Desired Experience and Required Attributes
• Some college coursework, or a college degree preferred.
• Available 10–15 hours per week.
• Strong interest in marketing, communications, social media, or community engagement.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Comfortable interacting with a wide variety of people and businesses.
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. and assist with event setup when necessary.
Technical Skills
Preferred experience with or willingness to learn:
• Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and TikTok
• Canva, Adobe Creative Suite or other graphic design tools
• Basic photography or video editing skills
• CRM systems such as GrowthZone
Interns will be provided with necessary technology/ equipment needed.
Compensation
This is an unpaid learning-based internship designed to provide hands-on experience in marketing, communications, and community engagement.

We will work around the intern’s school schedule when possible.
